KENT, OH – Kent State Student Media is honored to be the home of a finalist in the 2019 Pacemaker Awards: The Kent Stater.

The Kent Stater is one of 46 collegiate newspapers in the running for the award. Of the 46 finalists, 19 will earn the Pacemaker Award, placing those newspapers in approximately the top 12% of the entries.

“Kent State Student Media and The Kent Stater being a finalist in the Pacemaker proves to the nation what we already know: These students are the best of the best,” said Tami Bongiorni, Assistant Director, Student Media Sales and Client Relations.

Both print and online Pacemaker finalists will be recognized and the Pacemaker winners announced at the Fall National College Media Convention, sponsored by ACP and College Media Association, Oct. 31-Nov. 3, 2019, in Washington, D.C.

The Kent Stater is an award-winning student-run newspaper. Reaching more than 9,500 people per issue, the Stater keeps the community up-to-date with campus, local and national news, sports and features. The Stater publishes on Monday and Thursday and has a circulation of 6,000 per day.
