THE ENGINE OF STUDENT MEDIA
Ten distinct media partners make up the engine that drives Kent State Student Media forward. Each partner is a unique and independent student organization. They have opted to join together for mutual benefit under the banner of Student Media. At the top of each group is the selected editor, general manager or president who each “have sole authority to determine content for the media they lead and in turn take full responsibility for the content decisions made.” They work with their faculty advisers, and others, to provide professional, high quality content for their audiences.

Flash Film Commision
Flash Film Commission teaches, inspires and prepares filmmakers for the real-world industry.

The Burr Magazine
Exploring big issues, burning ideas, fascinating people and preoccupations of its audience.
Award-winning television that strives to be “Truly Portage County” with news, sports and entertainment programming.
Black Squirrel Radio
BSR is Kent State’s student-run radio station providing unique and innovative media content online.
Promoting LGBTQ equality and community, through journalism, in northeast Ohio and beyond.
